Default state: what an untouched request or account produces

Default state is the row recording what a generator produces when nothing is configured. It matters because most output in any production is made by whoever did not read the documentation, on whatever the account or the request already does. As of 2026-09-12.

1The default is what most files will actually carry

Documentation describes what a tool can be made to do. A delivery record describes what a tool did. The gap between those two is filled almost entirely by defaults, because the person rendering the ninetieth clip of a series is not revisiting a parameter they set once in a test script.

So this row is deliberately about the lazy path. It asks what a request with no options, on an account with no changes, hands back. Where a vendor states that directly the cell quotes it; where the answer is only legible from a feature missing on a plan, the cell says by omission and the weight drops accordingly.

2Two interfaces default to nothing at all

The two entries read from API references both describe a flag that adds a label to a rendered video, and both document that flag as optional with a false default. Read as products those are permissive designs. Read against a transparency duty they put the entire question into the integration code, where no invoice and no account setting will later show what happened.

That is the part worth writing down at delivery rather than reconstructing. An account tier can be looked up afterwards and a per-call boolean cannot, unless whoever built the integration logged it, and neither vendor undertakes to remember on the caller's behalf.

3On by default is a different bet, not a safer one

Three entries ship with something applied unless a step is taken to remove it. Two of those apply a signal inside the file with no removal documented, and one applies a visible notice that a switch turns off. All three mean an operator who changes nothing delivers a marked file, which is the outcome a deployer disclosure duty wants and the outcome a client sometimes does not.

Neither arrangement is treated here as better. They move the decision to different people: one to whoever writes the request, one to whoever holds the account. What matters for a record is that the two look identical in a finished file and are answered by completely different evidence.
