Google SynthID, read against Article 50
Google's SynthID (deepmind.google) is the mirror image of every other entry here: it describes an invisible watermark added at generation with no removal documented, and says nothing about a visible notice. As of 2026-09-12.
Fig. 1 Filled where the page behind the row names something in that column, hollow where that page is silent. Silence is recorded rather than filled in.
What Google SynthID publishes, set against the two duties Article 50 imposes. Recorded 2026-09-12.
Inclusion rule. Points are the same four for every generator recorded here: the two Article 50 duties, who controls the mark, and whatever the vendor states about it. A point the vendor does not publish is recorded as not documented. Order. Fixed order, identical on every generator page.

Every generator on one point, with Google SynthID marked. Recorded 2026-09-12.
Inclusion rule. Generators whose own public pages say something about marking. A generator silent on this particular point keeps its row, marked hollow. Order. Alphabetical by generator name.

2An entry that speaks to paragraph 2 in its own terms
Article 50(2) asks providers to mark output in a machine-readable format, detectable as generated, with technical solutions that are effective, interoperable, robust and reliable as far as technically feasible. This is the one scheme in the record described in those same terms:
It is added the moment content is created, and designed to stand up to modifications like cropping, adding filters, changing frame rates, or lossy compression.
Whether it satisfies the paragraph is not a question this record answers. Interoperability, one of the four qualities the paragraph names, is the one a single vendor's scheme cannot supply on its own, and nothing published claims it.

3Why interoperability is the word to watch in paragraph 2
The paragraph asks for solutions that are effective, interoperable, robust and reliable. Three of those four are properties a single vendor can engineer alone. The fourth is not: a mark is interoperable only if parties other than its author can read it, which makes it a property of an ecosystem rather than of a product.
Nothing published about this scheme claims that property, and reading an unclaimed one into it would be the sort of inference this record exists to avoid. What is published is a checking route inside the vendor's own assistant and a separate verification portal described as in testing with journalists rather than generally available, which is a narrower thing than the paragraph describes.
Four words is all a row holds. Where a cell read off Google SynthID's SynthID page needs the sentence behind it, the kind of document that sentence sits in and the limit on what it proves, it is filed on its own page below.
SynthID on what an edit leaves — The page names cropping, filters, frame-rate changes and lossy compression as modifications the mark is designed to stand up to.
SynthID on a family of products — The mark is described as embedded across the vendor's generative consumer products, added at the moment content is created.
Read from the SynthID page at deepmind.google on 2026-09-12. The clause itself is recorded on the Article 50 page, and every generator on the same points is in the table.
