Read against the narrowing for creative work, a small corner badge is a modest notice: it discloses that generated content is present without taking over the picture.

2The half a viewer never sees

The same terms describe what sits under the badge: an invisible, compression-resistant watermark or content credential. Switching the badge off does not touch it, so a clean-looking file from a paid account still carries a signal meant for software.
